The LYCRA Company has officially opened its largest spandex production facility, the LYCRA fiber Yinchuan Plant, in Ningxia Province, China. This new factory marks a significant investment of over RMB 800 million and is developed in partnership with the Yinchuan Financial Capital Investment Group. The plant initially adds 30,000 tons of spandex production capacity, generating an annual output valued at more than RMB 1 billion and creating around 500 new jobs. In future phases, capacity is expected to increase up to 120,000 tons annually, to meet the growing demand for high-quality spandex across China and the Asia-Pacific region.

This facility is the company’s second production site in China and brings together The LYCRA Company's top management and global research and development capabilities. It boasts a highly automated, intelligent production ecosystem designed to improve efficiency and precision. The Yinchuan plant also aligns with the company’s strong sustainability goals by reducing energy use, cutting emissions, and advancing environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.

Gary Smith, CEO of The LYCRA Company, highlighted China's strategic importance, noting that the country accounts for more than 50% of global apparel production. He emphasized that this facility enables The LYCRA Company to optimize its product mix and better respond to increasing market demand for quality spandex Fibers.
